Billy Joel from the suburbs of Levitown / Hicksville Long Island strating his piano playing at the age of four . In the late sixties he formed a group called the Hassels and landed a record contact with United Artist and recorded two albums. The group broke up and Billy went on witha solo career and recorded Cold Spring Harbor in 1971 .The album did not sell at all and he went into the Bar circuit playing his piano. Billy finally started his Columbia records career in 1973 . from this point on Billy has put one hit after the other hit. He also was very successful with his albums and his concert tours. If anyone can clam Madison Square Garden as a home Billy can!!
